Luke Hereford and Wales Millennium Centre would like to invite you to a free dementia-friendly performance of Grandmother’s Closet (and What I Found There…)

An autobiographical musical adventure that promises mischief and mashups, dresses and divas, and a whole lot of heart.

Join us for a special dementia-friendly performance of Grandmother’s Closet (and What I Found There…), a new play by Luke Hereford. Telling the story of Luke and his Nan, the play revels in the vibrant memories they built together and is a celebration of the unique formative relationship between grandmothers and grandsons.

This dementia-friendly performance will present the play in its entirety, with adjustments made for an invited audience of people living with dementia, and their families and carers. The whole environment will be more relaxed than your usual night at the theatre, including:

•             house lights will only be half dimmed

•             reduced sound levels

•             an invitation into the space with more time to get used to your surroundings, including a pre-   show touch tour

•             an ability to leave at any point, with our front of house staff able to help you and let you back in whenever you’re ready

•             a pre-show singalong of one of the featured songs
